Record passenger loads for Icelandair
Iceland’s national carrier Icelandair flew over 316,000 passengers on international flights last month and posted its best September passenger load factor ever.
The airline carried 316,603 international passengers last month. This is up from 260,514 last year – an increase of 22%.
Passenger load factor (PLF) is a measure of how much of an airline’s passenger carrying capacity is actually used and is expressed as a percentage of seat-miles available.
Iceland’s PLF increased from 79.8% in September 2014 to 83.1% last month, its highest ever September figure.
According to a press release from Icelandair Group, the airline has also seen year-on-year increases for the month of September in domestic/Greenland flights, cargo and charter flights.
